Raven Housing Trust and EDAROTH (Everyone Deserves A Roof Over Their Head) are exploring opportunities to deliver new, energy efficient, affordable homes in existing communities that Raven serves.
Raven Housing Trust periodically undertakes stock condition surveys, and it has been identified that many of our garage sites are an underutilised asset; not meeting local need and not fit-for-purpose for today’s modern cars.
Over the years, the garages have become dilapidated and have exhausted their life cycle stages and now require significant investment to bring them up to a usable standard. Raven don’t believe that this is good value for money due to the increased costs that customers would be charged for rental, coupled with a lack of demand. These garage sites have also attracted antisocial behaviour, from criminal damage to fly-tipping activity, both of which are costly to deal with.
Raven identified the garage sites at the rear of Upland Way, Downland Close, Shawley Crescent, Ferriers Way, Hatch Gardens and Partridge Mead in Reigate & Banstead. All the land that these garages sit on is owned by Raven Housing Trust and could be brought into better use. Their proposal is to build 26 much-needed affordable homes across all the garage sites
Raven have been exploring opportunities to deliver new, energy efficient, affordable homes designed by Edaroth. They believe that these six garage sites are good locations to provide much-needed new homes to the area.
The proposal is to build up to 26 much needed affordable homes across the below garage sites.
These energy efficient homes would be built off-site, reducing waste and on-site construction time.
NewmanFrancis consulted with local residents and stakeholders on behalf of EDAROTH for your views on the proposals. The planning application has now been submitted and is on the Reigate and Banstead Council website for review.

There were several opportunities for you to have your say on our proposals and give feedback on the design of the homes before a planning application was submitted.
Thank you to everyone who came along to our engagement events, left comments online, called us and emailed us.

During this period the public will be invited by the Council to provide comments on the proposals.
