Broadwater Farm Estate, Tottenham

About the project

NewmanFrancis were appointed as Independent Tenant and Leaseholder Advisors for the community of Broadwater Farm, a large housing estate situated in North Tottenham, managed by the London Borough of Haringey. Broadwater Farm currently consists of just over 800 homes and has a long history of community involvement across the estate.

Currently 2 blocks on the estate are being demolished due to structural issues that are beyond repair and are due to be replaced with better quality housing. Residents were given the opportunity to vote on the replacement of these blocks through a ballot that took place in March 2022.

The proposed new development will bring over 200 new homes to the estate for social rent along with some retail and community spaces. In addition to this London Borough of Haringey have an estate-wide improvement programme for the remaining blocks including refurbishment of internal and external communal areas and the creation of new and improved outdoor public spaces.

You can find out more about the programme for Broadwater Farm on the London Borough of Haringey’s website, or visit the Broadwater Farm Commonplace where you can subscribe to regular project updates by clicking here

Our work at Broadwater Farm

Our work on Broadwater Farm started with supporting residents through the ballot process and now continues as the plans progress and we have been successful in winning a second contract and will be working with the community on Broadwater Farm until 2025.

As the Independent Tenant and Leaseholder Adviser (ITLA) our role is to provide impartial advice and ensure that as many households as possible are aware, engaged and informed on the options available to them as well as encouraging as many residents as possible to engage in the process.

We are here to support the residents and other stakeholders during this period of change, so if you have any questions about Broadwater Farm, the plans or how they might affect you please contact us.

We are often out and about on the estate, talking to residents and offering support.  You will also see us at community events and meetings.  Please feel free to stop and ask us any questions if you do see us around.

You can find out more about our engagement work between April 2024-October 2024 by clicking here.

Between March-April 2025, on every second Thursday of the month, we will also be outside Martlesham (from 2pm-4pm). Our upcoming sessions will be taking place on:

  • Thursday 13th March
  • Thursday 10th April
