King Henry’s Drive is in south Croydon, CR0 OPB. The proposed site is the garages to the rear of 495-501. Click here to see an outline of the proposed site area.

The proposed build would be three new homes.

We held an event on Tuesday 28th June to give you an opportunity to give your views and find out more about the proposed development on this site. If you were not able to attend, you can see the architect’s proposed plans that were shown at the event and the general feedback and suggestions from the consultation below.

Key Points Raised

  • New houses at the other end of the road are ugly and overlook their neighbours’ properties.
  • Trees behind the houses get very think in summer and they’re very tall, so they block light from that way
  • Parking in the area is quite busy
  • A few people use the garages but most are empty
  • The area does not have problems of fly-tipping or ASB
  • One person was ‘Undecided’ on the survey as to whether he supported the proposals or not.

Key Concerns Raised

  • Do not like the number of houses being built or how close they are to existing houses
  • Parking is quite busy around this area, one space per household might not be enough
  • Concerned about lack of properties being built that are suitable for people with disabilities

Suggestions 

  • To make sure to take into account the light blocking from the trees behind the site.
