Solomon’s Passage is an attractive estate situated in prime location overlooking Peckham Rye. However, after only 6 years into its life, it will be undergoing major redevelopment works due to the poor condition of the buildings. This includes the demolition and full redevelopment of blocks 42 and 44 and the refurbishment of blocks 40 and 46.
This news has come as a shock to tenants and leaseholders who are concerned about both current issues and the security of their future. Wandle Housing are ensuring that they reprovide homes for all current residents and they have been working to also provide alternative options.
NewmanFrancis were selected in September 2016 by residents as the Independent Residents Advisors to support and advocate for them during this difficult process.
We have been talking with residents and conducting various outreach services to keep people informed, identify arising issues and try to find resolutions together. Keep an eye out for our bi-monthly newsletter.
So far we have set up a Residents Steering Group and a Sounding Board to enable more collaborative decision-making processes. We will soon be supporting resident engagement in the design process of the new blocks and we aim to ensure residents can harness the opportunities that come about with the change.
