Newman Francis have been appointed to support Osborne Contractors during the construction of 60 new homes for Westminster City Council on a site called Parsons North near Edgware Road.
The site is situated next to Parsons House, a 20-storey tower block of 120 dwellings. We provide a Resident Liaison officer who will keep residents up to date with the contractors scheme of work and ensure that the project adds value to the community as a whole.
The construction phase is planned to last two years starting with the demolition of the carpark where the new build will be situated. We aim to work with the local community to limit any disruption that could be caused by the proposed development, this means working closely with Osborne Contractors as well as Westminster City Council to keep the community informed and provide mitigation where necessary.
Social value at Parsons North
Newman Francis, Westminster City Council, Osborne and its supply chain, are committed to bringing wider benefits to the community at Parsons North. There will be training and employment opportunities for people in the local area. Contractors will offer apprenticeships for those eligible, and this has proven to be a life changing opportunity for many in the past.
We help Osborne to work with with local organisations and deliver training, careers advice and other construction related activities. This has been particularly successful with local educators. We have already had 3 pupils from King Solomon Academy complete work placements at our site office, they enjoyed their time with Osborne and managed to learn a lot about what it takes to enter this area of work.
If you are a resident or local organisation and have ideas that would benefit the local community, please do get in touch.
