Consultation Feedback

Feedback from Community Engagement Event – 17/11/2016

Key Points

  • Many welcomed the idea of building on the vacant site, as it would have a positive affect on South Norwood’s image.
  • Most people were supportive about the proposal.
  • In relation to the allocation process, people felt as if there may need to be more affordable sale, opposed to private.

Key Concerns

  • Current problems: anti-social behavior, fly tipping, poor lighting
  • The choice of the window location near the balconies, and the effect this may have on privacy.
  • Balconies in general. People felt as if they would not be well kept.

Suggestions

  • Residents who reside directly adjacent to the proposed development would like more consultation.
  • People who were concerned about the window locations, suggested for the lower half to be masked (e.g. opaque glass).
  • Commercial space to be used as a café or restaurant. Other suggestions were for a stationery outlet or a gym.
