We held an event on Wednesday 13th July to give you an opportunity to give your views and find out more about the proposed development on this site. If you were not able to attend, you can see the architect’s proposed plans that were shown at the event and the general feedback and suggestions from the consultation below.

Survey responses:

5 were unsupportive (41.67%),

4 were supportive (33.33%)

3 were undecided (25%)

 Key Points Raised

  • Limited parking provision will increase pressure on street provision (exacerbated by school run use by Downsview School parents)
  • Loss of green space right next to an existing block, the massing of the new block may overshadow thereby adversely affecting their view and sense of open space
  • Stress on the area from building too many new homes

There was support for the proposals from 25% of respondents who felt that –

  • More affordable housing is needed in the area
  • The proposals could be a better use of the garages block, due to perception that many of the units are rented by people not resident on the estate.
